Statement

All valid Doppler velocity measurement within 25 km from the radar are combined to derive a single weather radar wind profile. Cosine functions are fitted on all Doppler velocities for a given height layer versus the azimuth angle. The phase offset of the cosine is the wind direction, its amplitude is the wind speed, and the standard deviation of the difference between the Doppler velocity and the cosine is a measure of the quality of the wind estimate.
