Door Provinciale Staten van Drenthe op 2 juli 2014 vastgestelde versie van Entree recreatief groen.Met de OV-entree bij Beilen wil de provincie Drenthe het toeristisch interessante achterland nog beter toegankelijk maken en de toeristische betekenis ervan versterken. Voor Assen geldt dezelfde benadering, vanuit het gegeven dat het station Assen Centrum de poort tot het Drentsche Aa gebied vormt. Komt voor in kaart 4: Robuust sociaal-economisch systeem.
