Precipitation - Long term average 1981-2010 - Yearly precipitation surplus
Gridded files of average yearly precipitation surplus per year in the Netherlands. Based on 304 precipitation observations of the voluntary network and 20 Makkink evaporation observations of the automatic weather stations (AWS)

Precipitation surplus is calculated by subtracting the evaporation map from the precipitation map. The interpolation method for evaporation is Thin Plate Spline (TPS). The number of evaporation observations is 20. The interpolation method for precipitation is ordinary kriging. The nugget is zero and the variogrammodel is exponential, The number of precipitation observations is 304.
