The population is counted on the basis of the Dutch registers for adresses and population. The grid data refers to the population in 2012.

The Lau and NUTS2 data refers to population in 2018.

The files refering to a grid or Lau regions have been created from a csv file converted with a SDMX converter with a DSD file from Eurostat acording to INSPIRE Population Distribution data model. https://geodata.cbs.nl/files/INSPIRE/ESTAT+CENSUS-GRID+1.0-SDMX21.xml

The NUTS2 data is the same as what can be found at the Eurostat SDMX server. Its Structure definition can be found here: http://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/SDMX/diss-web/rest/datastructure/ESTAT/DSD_demo_r_pjangroup/
