Wind: potential wind from before 2009 calculated using the sigma method

This dataset contains the improved potential wind from 1950 until 2009. This was calculated using the sigma method as described [here]( https://cdn.knmi.nl/knmi/pdf/bibliotheek/knmipubWR/WR2009-02.pdf) and wind measurements describing 10 minute periods. The potential wind in this dataset describes periods of 1 hour and is the result of a conversion from hourly gustiness analysis potential wind to sigma analysis potential wind. This aggregation step was necessary because the older measurements are hourly.

Deze dataset bevat de verbeterde potentiële wind van 1950 tot 2009. Deze is berekend met de sigma methode als [hier]( https://cdn.knmi.nl/knmi/pdf/bibliotheek/knmipubWR/WR2009-02.pdf) beschreven en windmetingen die perioden van 10 minuten beschouwen. De potentiële wind in deze dataset beschouwt perioden van 1 uur en is het resultaat van een conversie van de uurlijkse vlaaganalyse potentiele wind naar de sigma potentiële wind. Deze aggregratiestap was noodzakelijk omdat de oude metingen slechts perioden van 1 uur beschouwen.
