Wolken-gemodificeerd UV-index

Cloud-free and cloud-modified UV index data for an area covering The Netherlands for each quarter of an hour from 03:00 UTC up to and including 21:45 UTC, both in the usual non-dimensional unit, and given with 3 decimals. The UV index makes use of total ozone column data as well as the surface height and the amount of aerosols in the atmosphere.

Wolkenvrij en wolken-gemodificeerde UV-index data voor een gebied over Nederland voor elk kwartier tussen 03:00 UTC en 21:45 UTC, beiden als eenheidsloze getallen en met 3 decimalen achter de komma. De UV-index is gebaseerd op de dikte van de ozonlaag, de hoogte van het aardoppervlak en de hoeveelheid aerosolen in de atmosfeer.

Purpose Purpose: The UV index is an important piece of information for warning the public about the risk of sunburn. KNMI produces such data based on satellite observations of the thickness of the ozone layer and cloudiness. Dutch RIVM (National Institute for Public Health and the Environment) has asked to make that data public so that they can use it for their warnings and to build a service on that data.

De UV-index levert belangrijke informatie om het algemene publiek te waarschuwen voor de kans op verbranding van de huid door overmatige blootstelling aan zonnestraling. Het KNMI produceert deze data op basis van satellietwaarnemingen van de dikte van de ozonlaag en bewolking. Het RIVM heeft gevraagd of we die data publiek willen maken zodat zij het kunnen gebruik voor hun waarschuwingen en ook om er een dienst op te kunnen bouwen.

Waarde Value: For 15 minutes with insufficient sunlight to determine the UV index or when cloud cover data is missing, the entries use fill-values (-1.0).

Voor kwartier-data met onvoldoende zonlicht om een UV-index uit te rekenen of als informatie over bewolking mist worden fill-values gebruikt (-1.0).
