Satellite-based solar radiation nowcasting
Nowcasting van zonnestraling op basis van satellietmetingen

Based on the MSG-CPP cloud products (cloud physical properties retrieved from Meteosat measurements) a forecast/nowcast of these cloud properties is made and converted to surface downwelling shortwave radiation. The nowcast is made using the pySTEPS optical flow method for an area covering Europe and a 4-hour time horizon with a 15-minute time step. The values are resampled on a lat-lon grid with a resolution of 0.05x0.05 degrees.

Gebruikmakend van de MSG-CPP wolkenproducten (fysische eigenschappen van wolken afgeleid uit Meteosat-metingen) wordt een verwachting/nowcast van deze wolkeneigenschappen gemaakt en geconverteerd naar zonnestraling die op het aardoppervlak binnenvalt. De nowcast wordt gemaakt met de pySTEPS optical-flow methode voor een gebied dat Europa omvat en voor een tijdshorizon van 4 uur, met tijdstappen van 15 minuten. De waarden zijn geïnterpoleerd op een breedte- en lengte-raster met een resolutie van 0.05x0.05 graden.
