Time resolution: 1-hourly for precipitation and daily for temperature and potential evaporation. Subregion (26x28 cells) of native model grid at 0.11 degree resolution.

  • This dataset contains cloud condensation nuclei counts (expressed in counts/cm3) and the particle size distribution (top of bins are 0.75, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, up to 10 microns), expressed in counts/s for a continuous repetition of a set of saturation levels. Typical operational parameters are 5 saturation settings, with 5 until 10 minutes settle time between settings. The CCN counter (Droplet Measurement Technologies) is operated in the basement of the Cabauw tower, with an inlet pipe bolted to the tower and has the inlet opening at 60 meters height

  • KNMI-RACMO-ECEARTH datasets of bias-adjusted precipitation, temperature (daily mean/max/min) and potential evaporation for the Belgian and French part of the Meuse catchment. Time resolution: 1-hourly for precipitation and daily for temperature and potential evaporation. Aggregation into 15 subcatchments.

  • An important variable to calculate local temperatures is the Sky View Factor (SVF) which is the fraction of sky visible from the ground. The SVF depends on the height of the obstacles in the surroundings of a given location. The goal is to capture small features like houses and trees throughout the Netherlands at a very high resolution. This dataset comprises the Sky View Factor of The Netherlands at 0.5 meter resolution raster based on Actual Height Model of the Netherlands (AHN2) elevation dataset.   • Degree days are determined by the effective daily mean temperature (Teff). Teff is calculated with the daily mean temperature (TG) and the daily mean windspeed (FG). Teff = TG - 2/3 * FG. Degree days = sum of the days with (max[(14 - Teff),0]).

  • This dataset contains post-processed X-band (central frequency of 9.475 GHz) weather radar data from the TU Delft IRCTR drizzle radar IDRA. It includes plan-position indicators (PPI) of the specific differential phase, the differential backscatter phase, and the estimated rainfall rate. IDRA is mounted at the top of the Cabauw tower at 213 m agl., and is scanning horizontally at a fixed low elevation angle, covering a slant range of 15 km with a range resolution of 30 m. IDRA thus provides the horizontally spatial distribution of precipitation over the CESAR observatory.
