  • North Sea wind profiles with 1 second raw data measured by the ZephIR 300M wind lidar. Data are daily files reported by the instrument. Locations are the TenneT platforms BSA, BSB, HKZA, HKZB, HKN, HKWA (operational starting 2019-2023), located within the wind farms BS, HKZ, HKN, and HKW. Please note that the time resolution of the full wind profiles is 17 to 18 seconds. This type of wind lidar measures the different measuring heights successively, and those individual measurements take 1 second.

  • The KNW (KNMI North Sea Wind) atlas is based on the ERA-Interim reanalyses dataset which captures more than 40 years (January 1979 - August 2019) of meteorological measurements and generates 3D wind (temperature, etc) fields consistent with these measurements and the laws of physics. Read the manual at the KNW website: https://www.knmiprojects.nl/projects/knw-atlas. This dataset is downscaled using the state-of-the-art weather forecasting model, HARMONIE with a horizontal grid of 2.5 km. The vertical profile of wind speed was calibrated against the 200 m tall Cabauw measurement mast to obtain a single wind shear correction coefficient which was applied throughout the whole dataset. The result is a high resolution dataset of more than 40 years: the KNW dataset. The model statistics in this specific dataset cover the original 35 year period of the KNW Atlas.

  • This dataset contains an extension for 2018 of the the Dutch Offshore Wind Atlas (DOWA). DOWA is validated wind climatology (and information on temperature, pressure and relative humidity) based on 10 years (2008-2017) of model data: weather model HARMONIE-AROME is nested in re-analyses ERA5.
